Michael Madigan had a thirty year career with the Rocky Mountain News as assistant managing editor, sportswriter, and sports editor.
Michael began writing a 150-part series of 150 years of front-page stories for the paper, the longest series in its history, leading up to the Rocky's 150th anniversary on April 23, 2009. The series never completely ran, as February 27 was the last issue of the Rocky Mountain News.
You can still get the entire 150 parts, however, in Heroes, Villains, Dames and Disasters. This souvenir keepsake collection of historic front pages and stories from Colorado's oldest newspaper will make a terrific holiday gift for former Rocky readers, or for anyone who enjoys Colorado and American history.
Thanks, Michael, for giving us this wonderful collection.
Until next week,
