Born to an artistic family, Laura Grolla is the granddaughter of an investigative reporter and daughter of an artist, cartoonist and poet. She pursued her first college degree in Illustration at the American Academy of Art in Chicago and is currently completing an English Writing degree at Metropolitan State College of Denver. In 2008 Grolla was chosen editor of Metrosphere, the college’s literary and arts magazine, which she designed. An avid poet, Grolla won the Tuskegee Airman Poetry Contest for her poem He Dreamed of Flying and reads at open stages around Denver. She loves to teach and has helped children and adults learn to write, draw, dance and tell their stories. She is currently working on a novel and her visionary painting series Embracing Angel.
